About me page
Hello, my name is Krishni Appadoo. I am a first-year student enrolled in BCOM Tourism, Hospitality and Marketing at Curtin Mauritius (Charles Telfair Campus). I am a 21 years old girl with lots of ambitions and dreams that I aim to fulfill with my determination and perseverance. My dream in life is to become a successful Marketing Manager and I believe that my personality and qualities match with my dream job because I have good observational skills, management skills, and the ability to boost sales through persuasive communications. Besides all my skills, the most important skill for me is Teamwork. I had the golden opportunity to put into practice these skills both in academic and professional circumstances that will be elaborated below. I have a motto in life: “There is no great talent without will power”. Nothing is impossible in life if you decide to do it and take one step towards it.

Work Experiences
In 2017, I had the chance to work at Esprit Bagatelle as casual sales assistant where I developed my communications skills and learnt about the strategies to boost sales. At that time, I was in school holidays and I thought to take up a job to learn something and to get to know and better understand the world of Sales and Marketing.

Additionally, I got the chance to do a work placement at Sofitel Imperial after my HSC exams in 2018. Without giving a second thought, I chose for that internship because I love the industry of tourism. Marketing and Tourism are the two industries that always fascinates me. After my interview at Sofitel Imperial, I was given the post of assistant receptionist where I learnt the importance of teamwork, I also learnt how different departments are inter- connected. For example, the front office team need to communicate with all the departments in the hotel to deliver excellent customer service.

Last but not the least, I have a very open-minded approach as I find it vital to consider each and everyone’s opinions to yield a better result.
